Jaagpad West completed

November 2010 – Within walking distance of Alkmaar city centre lies the newbuild development Jaagpad West, which has recently been completed. This development includes six detached houses and 16 one and three room apartments. Also within the development is Lauwershof nursing home, a care unit with capacity for 24 dementia patients. The steel structures, staircases and railings were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard before being powder coated with two layers applied by Poedercoating Heerhugowaard.

9 June 2010 was the official opening of the Jaagpad West newbuild development on the Oude Trambaan. This was a further significant step in phase two of the redevelopment of the former Schermereiland building site. The different levels, types of stone and colours all contribute to give the building a 'playful', yet modern appearance, although the architecture echoes the character of Alkmaar's old centre. The second and third floor houses the accommodation for 24 dementia patients in Verpleeghuis Lauwershof. The residents have their own bedroom and sitting room, and have the use of a shared kitchen and living room.

The steel structures, staircases and railings were made by Engelsma R&B of Heerhugowaard. They were hot-dip galvanised at Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard, and two layers of powder coating were applied by Poedercoating Heerhugowaard. The new residents are free to enjoy their new environment in safety.
